Performing & Creative Arts Roles

Performing & Creative Arts Roles at Camp

You don’t need to be a prima ballerina, master ceramist or the next Adele to work at camp in the performing or visual arts!

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic creative folk who want to teach what they love to the kids at camp.

It might be simple choreography for a dance at the camp fire to an elaborate musical with props, lighting and sound in camps’ theatre. Likewise, some camps may have an arts and crafts program that consists of tie dye or beading whereas others will have screen printing, woodwork or even jewellery making.

Creative arts roles include:

  • Dance – Most dance taught at camp will focus around easy to learn routines, mainly hip hop, street and lyrical. Because of the high volume of dance applications we receive ideal candidates will have a background in various styles of dance as well as teaching experience.
  • Music and singing – Instruments include, but aren’t limited to drums, guitar, piano, woodwind. Many camps will have singing lessons for the campers, and may put together choirs or acapella groups. Some camps will have recording studios or a radio program for the kids to record their music or play it for the rest of camp.
  • Cooking – One of the more recent programs which many camps have added to the activities that they offer. If you love creating tasty treats then this could be the job for you!
  • Yoga and Zumba – Some camps will offer yoga and zumba to their campers. Some camps may look for staff with teaching qualifications and experience whereas others will take on people who are experienced in practicing yoga or zumba but don’t have the teaching experience. Get in touch for more information!
  • Arts and crafts – There are many different types of arts taught at camp, including drawing, painting, fabrics, woodwork, ceramics, leatherwork, beading, stained glass, jewellery making, 3D printing, tie dye, face paint and more!
  • Theatre – Performance production at camp will include light and sound engineers, theatre directors, set designers, workshops, improv, stage and special effects makeup and more! This is another role where we have a high volume of applicants, therefore prior teaching experience in key.
  • Circus – Including all elements e.g. flying trapeze, juggling, magic, fire breathing, silks.

If you have a creative skill then we want to talk to you! There’s a place for any and all traditional visual and performing arts as well as more unusual hobbies at summer camp.
