Equestrian and Animal Care Roles at Camp

If you love spending time with animals then working with them at camp may just be the best job for you!

It’s certainly a lot of hard work, as not only will you be taking care of the campers but also the animals under your care.

Many camps will have equine programs. This could range from pony rides on a couple of different horses, to a huge equine program with kids that can show jump, ride a dressage test or take horses out all day for a day of hacking out.

The majority of the programs will focus on the English seat, but if you’ve had experience western riding then one of the ranch camps may be the ideal summer job for you! We also work with camps who have a natural horsemanship approach to their program.

Ideal candidates will have some experience working with horses, competition and teaching experience, although this is not always necessary. We firmly believe that there is a camp out there for everyone, so talk to us about your skills and we can find you a summer home.

If you’re studying equine science or animal management, then think about the brilliant addition to your CV working at camp will be! We work with quite a few camps that have animal programs which may include milking cows, collecting eggs from chickens to more exotic animal programs like working with snakes and alpacas. One camp we work with in Massachusetts even has a puppy program where the kids can look after the puppies for the whole summer!
