Adventure Roles

Adventure Roles at Camp

If you run on adrenaline, love working as part of a team and don’t have a fear of heights then adventure could be the place for you at camp. Every camp we work with will have an adventure program, which could vary from a wall and some tree top elements, to a natural rock surface to scale and a 90 foot zip line over a lake! They will need staff who are happy to jump in and get involved with all things outdoor adventure.

You could be helping a camper string a bow in archery, fit their safety equipment in paintball or make a shelter for them to sleep in overnight. The campers love spending their time in adventure, learning new skills and challenging themselves in a safe and secure environment.

Outdoor Adventure at Camp

These activities can range from mountain boarding, mountain biking, paintballing, archery, go karting, skateboarding, climbing, high ropes, nature, trips, camping and more!

Of course safety is paramount, as with many areas at camp there is a significant risk of danger within the all the adventure programs. Staff will go through training prior to the arrival of the campers to make sure everyone is trained to the same standard and is able to run the program areas.

Your day will be spent working the various adventure areas. It might be that you specialise in one area or move around during the day. You will work as part of a larger adventure team, with an adventure lead guiding you along the way. The campers may be advanced and confident or complete beginners who need a confidence boost. Your job will be to allow them to achieve their goals, encourage but not pressure and teach them something new every day.

When you’re not teaching you will 100% be a part of camp, getting involved with the chaos of meal times, the excitement of evening activities and special events and the bonding of bunk life. You’ll typically get a period off during the day to chill, shower, call home etc.
